Sylar question
So, in Heroes, the primary villain Sylar seems to have a multitude of internal weapons at his disposal, most prominently telekenesis. He also seems to have the ability to fly, deflect bullets, and cyrogenically freeze people not named Walt Disney.
He also seems to target other similarly gifted people and steal their brains.
So, since all the characters we've seen so far seem to have one ability (with the exception of Peter who can mimic the abilities of those around him) and Sylar has multiple, is it safe to assume that Sylar's somehow able to extract the abilites from his victim's brains and make them his?
It would explain the whole "save the cheerleader, save the world" slogan we've been hearing ad nauseum. If he could "kill" Claire the unkillable cheerleader...or at least render her immobile enough to steal her brain...then he himself would become invincible.
And that's probably the last thing anyone needs.

What? They don't have NBC or "Heroes" in Newfoundland? How about the SciFi channel? I think they're rerunning the episodes there too (at least I think I saw that on my TiVo).
Oh, Sci Fi. I never got into this whole Star Wars and loving Captain Kirk stuff. Most my TV watching is NHL and NFL. Once every couple of months I might rent a movie (usually a comedy or horor). Occasionally I watch I sitcom (simpsons or earl or something). I regerd this sci fi stuff the same as I do video games - just not for me. I live in Labrador - check a map to see the difference. The province is Newfoundland and Labrador with 2 distinct sections. Of course we have sci fi and NBC. With my dish I get more TV than you do.
You might like Heroes. Sci-fi, but borderline horror. Telling you man, check it out.

I think your last point is pretty much it...artistic license. They needed to emphasize it was the cheerleader they were saving. I think so anyway...not sure what her cheerleader status has to do with anything, really. I guess because "save the cute blonde in the dress, save the world" is considerably less marketable (although, admittedly, *I'd* still sign up for that campaign).
Well, if it happens right after the game, one would assume that Claire was cheering at the game, so perhaps it takes place between the end of the game and beginning of the dance? Or, as you say, it's simply the interpretation in the picture so that the people who need to be able to find her can identify her, but that at the actual dance she may be wearing something different. But I think my first thought may have some more validity. :P
